On coming home

Posted: November 28, 2011 in Uncategorized

I’ve been gone from home since Tuesday night. And while it was fun to get away, do the whole traveling thing for a while, I’m now over it and am glad to be back. I’ll add more thoughts/photos from my Left Coast trip when I actually get back to my place. Currently sitting on the plane, waiting for other planes to move so we can get to our gate. Lots of work to do tonight to get caught up! It wouldn’t be a vacation if you didn’t come home tired and behind, I guess.

Oh well. Time to re-acclimate…though I’m not certain I ever got off east coast time. More to come soon.

Pre-Turkey Day

A few random thoughts leading up to this Thursday’s festivites:

1) GMU basketball has gotta get it together. 2-2, with three overtime games already?

2) 49ers are 9-1. Best start since like 1997 or something like that. Insane. Yesterday’s win was ugly, but a win’s a win at this point.

3) It’s been years since I’ve flown. Always makes me nervous. Fly out to the Left Coast tomorrow night.

4) I’ve given students opportunities to make up missed work and recieved fewer than 10 so far. One class remains…

5) I’ve got two papers to write before my semester is done at UNCC. I didn’t miss writing papers. Also a portfolio for poetry class, but that doesn’t worry me at all.

6) My winter break will be spent working on a book of poetry and travelling to Manila. An unexpected trip, but still, it’ll be good for me.

7) Looking for ideas for my short novel that I’ll be writing next spring in my…(big shocker)…short novel class. Please feel free to add as you see fit.

8) I’m tired. Thanksgiving break could not be coming at a better time.

Salutations in reverse,

Shameless self promotion

I told you you’d see music. I forgot to mention shameless self-promotion, too. So here ya go. Enjoy:

Hello world!

I’ve often wondered what I’d say if I started one of these things. I guess it all depends on where I am in life. Music will come up a lot. As will faith. As will love. As will many other random pieces of information and ideas. Whatever I see fit, I suppose. This is, after all, my blog. One thing, however, will be consistent: I will attempt, as best I can, not to conceal too much. Airing of greivances? Maybe. I’d like to think of it more as simple honesty.

Some things will change. But I do hope the honesty will not.
